In both cases the Remote Device Actions menu provided me with the expected Retire/Wipe option. That's the remote action that should be available. Are you not even seeing that option? WebI only see release from organization and edit MDM server. I am on ABM. You should be in the Intune portal and you need certain roles/permissions to be able to initiate a wipe. I agree. If you don't see it, you don't have sufficient permissions.
