WebHWMon64 shows all my CPU cores are at 98c to 100c. 100c is critical temp where the hardware begins to throttle. It's running with the pedal to the metal. None of this happens when I dual-boot into Ubuntu 20.04 on the same machine. In Ubuntu all my CPU cores idle at ~45c, and the fans are whisper quiet. So this can't be a hardware thermal paste ... WebThe 8750h base clock is 2.2ghz and it can go all the way up to 4.1ghz. 4.1ghz does not appear to be sustainable with the cooling system of the 9570, however, as you can see in Prime95 graphs, 3-3.4ghz does seem to be sustainable under harsh CPU stress testing (Prime95). ThrottleStop can turn off Turbo, which seems to lock the CPU at 2.2ghz.
